French Country Kitchen in Brookville, New York

We created this French Country kitchen for a client in Brookville, New York. This kitchen made its movie debut in Adam Sandler’s movie, The Cobbler. If you have Netflix, the kitchen scene is at minute 59. The Bentwood cabinetry you see here is an exquisite luxury kitchen collection of absolutely authentic door designs, custom finishes, accoutrements, and concept details and is the result of an extensive collaboration with Jack Arnold, one of America’s foremost French Country architects. The basic geometric forms of Louis XVI style are retained, but the silhouettes are austere and clean. Colors are subdued and decoration is understated in keeping with French Society’s transition away from the flamboyance of the Royal French Court. The backsplash behind the stove is a custom hand-painted mural on porcelain, and we added an exposed interior spice shelf to the hood. The countertops are a combination of granite and cherry. The step-up eating bar has a built-in entertainment sink for drinks and ice, and we created an armoire-style configuration for the SubZero refrigerator and freezer with decorative storage and panels.
