Ken designed this elegant, classic white kitchen for a client in Garden City. (Ken Kelly, CKD, CBD, CR – Kitchen Designs by Ken Kelly, Inc.) The kitchen renovation resulted in a warm and congenial kitchen with plenty of room for entertaining friends and family. The combination of comfort and elegance provides upscale elements ideal for day-to-day living making it the focal point of the home. The impact of its open space flooded with filtered sunlight casts warmth on the kitchen’s dynamic lines. Innovative design solutions are the key to this impeccable space that combines understated clean lines with the latest cutting edge appliances.
The cabinetry is Wood-Mode in a painted Nordic White finish, and the inset door with recessed panel is the Regent door style. The cabinet hardware is from Top Knobs Normandy Collection in polished chrome. The split-rail door features an X-mullion glass door in the upper third of the cabinet. Ken specified a 7-inch V-grooved wood-planked ceiling. The walnut island is the perfect complement to the Carrera marble countertops.
The island showcases 3/4 posts that are gracefully shaped with rosettes drilled into the tops. One quarter of the post leg is notched and attached to the corner of the cabinetry.
Ken created a custom frame to attractively set the Wolf microwave flush with the cabinet frame.
Decorative columns to the right and left of the refrigerator are wrapped with an intricate mitered molding detail. Appliances are SubZero and Wolf. Warming drawer is Dacor. The undermount stainless sink and strainer are from Blanco. The polished chrome faucet is by Rohl.
