Ingredients List
2 cups unsifted flour
¾ cups sugar
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Dash of cinnamon
2/3 cup shortening
2 egg yolks
¼ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup sesame seeds
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift flour into bowl; then, add sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
2 Add egg yolks, milk, and vanilla. With a fork, mix just until dough holds together. Knead several times or until smooth.
3 For each cookie, shape rounded tablespoonfuls of dough into oval shapes to resemble a little loaf of bread. Slightly moisten the sesame seeds so they stick better and won’t burn; then, roll the ovals in the sesame seeds coating completely.
4 Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until brown. Let cool on wire rack.
