Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet
We’re ready to fire up our Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet grill and kick off the summer season! Are you having a Memorial Day backyard party? Today we have a few all-American recipes to share, plus some outdoor kitchen and backyard design ideas.
It is so much fun for us to design spaces when the focus is on lifestyle and enjoyment. If you would like help adding any of these ideas into your own yard, come talk to us and see the outdoor displays at the showroom.
Idea #1: Expand your living space by carving out areas of your yard for lounging, dining, cooking, and serving. Nestled in this pool-side gazebo is a hammock (click to expand); the outdoor living area includes an eat-at bar, a swimming pool, and a Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet kitchen complete with heavy-gauge outdoor stainless-steel cabinetry. The cabinets are unique in that they have rain-gutter technology that channels water away from the inside of the cabinets keeping contents dry. The hybrid grill is 82,500 BTUs with 726 square inches of grilling surface.
Idea #2: Set up a cozy U-shaped cooking area with movable components. The setup shown here includes our freestanding pizza oven on a cart and a fire pit table with surround seating. The pizza oven is portable, so you can easily take it to a friend’s house or to a tailgate party. The hybrid gas grill gives you the additional option of burning wood and/or charcoal at the same time.
Idea #3: Incorporate outdoor refrigeration and/or freezers if your budget allows. It’s easy to whip up special beverages for your guests when you have your own mini refrigerator, wine chiller, keg tapper, or ice maker outside. We have these available in 15- and 24-inch widths so you can customize them to your needs. The keg tappers come in 15-inch models for single tap, 24-inch models for single or double tap, and 48-inch models for single, double, or triple tap for draft beer at home.
Idea #4: Consider traffic flow. When designing your backyard entertaining space, it is important that you and your designer carefully consider the flow of traffic between areas. This outdoor oasis is perfect for a backyard party with its fireplace lounge and Kalamazoo kitchen.
Idea #5: Build the outdoor kitchen near the indoor kitchen. Keeping your outdoor kitchen close to the house makes it easy to cook year round and move food back and forth from indoors to out. Here is a patio terrace with the outdoor kitchen conveniently built into the masonry alongside the house.
